The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) wishes to recruit  self motivated and qualified professionals for the following vacant positions:
Examinations Secretary III, Information Communication Technology

The Examinations Secretary III will be reporting to a Head of Section in the Test Development Department. 
Duties and Responsibilities: Being in charge of organizing and guiding Test Development programmes in Information Technology Science Examinations and related activities. 
Requirements for Appointment:

  • Bachelors Degree in Education (Information Science) or a Bachelors Degree specializing in Information Communication Technology/Computer Studies with Post Graduate Diploma in Education plus 3 to 6 years experience handling Examination/Test Development related activities in a reputable institution;
  • Evidence of being well grounded in theory and application of Examination Administration, Psychometrics, Curriculum Design and Educational Assessment, Research, Setting, Marking and Moderation of examinations;
  • Must have a minimum grade of C+ and above in KCSE or equivalent qualifications
Examinations Secretary III, Mechanical Engineering

The Examinations Secretary III will be reporting to a Head of Section, in the Test Development Department. 
Duties and Responsibilities: Being in charge of organizing and guiding Test Development programmes in Mechanical Engineering Examinations and related activities. 
Requirements for Appointment:
  • Bachelors Degree in Education (Technology) or a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with Post Graduate Diploma in Education plus at least three (3) years experience handling Examination/Test Development related activities in a reputable institution 
  • OR Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with Post Graduate Diploma in Education plus 3 to 6 years experience handling Examination/Test Development related activities or equivalent in a reputable institution;
  • Evidence of being well grounded in theory and application of Examination Administration, Psychometrics, Curriculum Design and Educational Assessment, Research, Setting, Marking and Moderation of examinations;
  • Evidence of proficiency and knowledge in Computer Applications;
  • Must have a minimum grade of C+ and above in KCSE or equivalent qualifications.
Examinations Secretary III, Food & Nutrition

Duties and Responsibilities: Being in charge of organizing and guiding Test Development programmes in Food and Nutrition Examinations and related activities. 
Requirements for Appointment:
  • Bachelors Degree in Education (Home Economics) or a Bachelors Degree with Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetic plus at least three (3) years experience handling Examination/Test Development related activities in a reputable institution OR
  • Higher Diploma in Food and Nutrition specializing in Nutrition and Dietetic with Post Graduate Diploma in Education plus 3 to 6 years experience handling Examination/Test Development related activities or equivalent in a reputable institution;
  • Evidence of being well grounded in theory and application of Examination Administration, Psychometrics, Curriculum Design and Educational Assessment, Research, Setting, Marking and Moderation of examinations;
  • Must have a minimum grade of C+ and above in KCSE or equivalent qualifications;
  • Evidence of proficiency and knowledge in Computer Applications.
Examinations Secretary III, Marine Engineering

Duties and Responsibilities: Being in charge of organizing and guiding Test Development programmes in Marine Engineering Examinations and related activities.
Requirements for Appointment:
  • Bachelors Degree in Education (Technology) or a Bachelors Degree with Post Graduate Diploma in Education and Marine Engineering plus at least three (3) years experience handling Examination/Test Development related activities in a reputable institution.
OR
  • Higher Diploma in Engineering specializing in Marine Engineering with Post Graduate Diploma in Education plus 3 to 6 years experience handling Examination/Test Development related activities or equivalent in a reputable institution;
  • Evidence of being well grounded in theory and application of Examination Administration, Psychometrics, Curriculum Design and Educational Assessment, Research, Setting, Marking and Moderation of examinations;
  • Must have a minimum grade of C+ and above in KCSE or equivalent qualifications;
  • Evidence of proficiency and knowledge in Computer Applications.
Examinations Secretary III: (Library & Information Science)

Duties and Responsibilities: Being in charge of organizing and guiding Test Development programmes in Library Science Examinations and related activities. 
Requirements for Appointment:
  • Bachelors Degree in Education (Library and Information Science) or a Bachelors Degree in Library and Information Science with Post Graduate Diploma in Education plus 3 to 6 years experience handling Examination/Test Development related activities in a reputable institution.
  • Evidence of being well grounded in theory and application of Examination Administration, Psychometrics, Curriculum Design and Educational Assessment, Research, Setting, Marking and Moderation of examinations;
  • Must have a minimum grade of C+ and above in KCSE or equivalent qualifications;
  • Evidence of proficiency and knowledge in Computer Applications
Terms of Offer: The Council will offer a competitive remuneration package commensurate with seniority and responsibilities of the position.
