Advertisement for Recruitment of Servicemen / Women and Constabularies into the Defence Forces

The KDF Recruiting Teams consisting of the Kenya Army, Kenya Air Force, Kenya Navy and the Defence Forces Constabulary will be visiting the centres indicated below to recruit Servicemen/women and Defence Forces Constabularies on dates indicated.

2. All potential candidates reporting to the recruitment centres should come from the divisions of the respective counties. The recruitment exercise will be absolutely FREE.

3. Corruption. Bribery and other acts of corruption are against the law. All persons presenting themselves for recruitment purposes at any centre with fake/falsified calling letters, identity cards, academic certificates etc. or caught engaging in any corrupt activity shall be arrested and prosecuted.If you accept to be conned, you will lose your money and go to jail; it happened to many during the last recruitment. Do not waste your money and risk imprisonment; NO ONE can influence the recruitment process.

4. Potential candidates must bring with them current original national identity cards and academic certificates / testimonials, ID photocopies / scanned ones and police abstracts will not be accepted.

5. Requirements

A. Conditions for Recruits

(1) Must be Kenyan citizens and should not have dual citizenship.

(2) Age: Between 18 and 26 years old.

(3) Education: A minimum of mean grade D (Plain) in KCSE.

(4) Be physically and medically fit in accordance with the KDF standards.

(5) Have no criminal record.

(6) Potential candidates must turn up in appropriate running gear.

(7) Those with Technical and Non-technical Trades are encouraged to present themselves for recruitment.

B. Conditions for Defence Forces Constabularies

(1) Must be Kenyan citizens and should not have dual citizenship.

(2) Age: Below 52years old.

(3) Be physically and medically fit in accordance with the KDF standards.

(4) Have no criminal record.

(5) Be ex-Defence Forces Servicemen/Women (Kenya Army, Kenya Air Force or Kenya Navy).

(6) Possess a Discharge Certificate of minimum “Very Good” in conduct.

(7) Must have served at least a 3 or 9 years’ colour service.

IT Network Manager Job in Nairobi Kenya (Six Months Contract)

IT Network Manager

(6 Months contract)

Location: Nairobi

Our client is seeking to recruit an IT, Network Manager.

This is a challenging and varied role where the successful candidate will be responsible for both installing and maintaining the company's computer networks as well as;

Establishing a network system in the company, administration of the systems and troubleshooting any kind of problems of the employees or the end-users of the systems.
Design specifications for establishing security in the networks and protecting vulnerable database
Troubleshoot any kind of hardware and software problems at the end users site and make sure that there is no problem in accessing any resource for the users
Putting in place an effective back up system to ensure system users have access to both internet and phone communication 24/7.
Ensure all IT assets are protected with up to date anti-virus software.
Setting access to files, email, and internet and security systems to prevent hackers from getting into the system. You might even have to write programmes.
Once the system is in place: train staff, provide technical support, support staff queries, monitor system use, set up user accounts and manage back-up.
Develop a disaster recovery plan to minimise the disruption to the business if the network goes down.
Update the systems regularly with antivirus, firewall and spyware and protect any kind of viruses and breakdowns in the network
Maintain remote monitoring systems and keep a track of the use of resources provide to the employees and the end users
Sets authentication and authorization and restricts users from accessing important and vital information available

Qualifications/ Experience

IT related Degree/Diploma from a reputable institution and 3 to 5 years practical experience
Ability to multitask and support various groups of users
Project management, organizations and prioritizing skills
Excellent troubleshooting skills and excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Good communications skills - written and verbal
Mature personality able to work under immense pressure.
Excellent knowledge of Infrastructure Technologies, concepts, and methodologies.
Hands-on experience in
Server Exchange 2003/ Exchange 2010 hardware.
Operating Systems (Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and 2008; Microsoft Windows
Expert experience managing Linux servers (Red Had Enterprise Linux).
Watch guard Firewalls/ Cyber Roam Firewall
SharePoint
Network concepts and Network equipment (routers, switches firewalls).

Handyman – Vehicle Mechanics

A dynamic company based in Nairobi is looking for a Vehicle Mechanic with Electrical Skills.

Purpose

Undertake preventive and maintenance measures of motor vehicles, and also perform general electrical maintenance on buildings and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

Diploma in Auto/Mechanical Engineering or a Government Trade Test 1 and a valid driving license preferably with Class B, C, E
Hold a Government Trade Test Grade 1 in electrical Installations & Maintenance
3 years experience in repairs and maintenance of all vehicles in the automotive field.
Computer literate with good knowledge of MS office
Demonstrated Multi skilling in Mechanics, auto Electrical, Auto Electronics, welding and fabrication works a great advantage
Good interpersonal and communication skills, in English and Kiswahili

Duties

Repairing, servicing and diagnosing faults on vehicles and determining the extent of repairs required.
Stripping, fitting and replacing components on fleet of various makes, types and kinds.
Undertake inspections, repairs and routine preventative maintenance, to ensure that all vehicles, plant and equipment meet or exceed set repair and maintenance standards.
Perform electrical maintenance on buildings and equipment.
Attend to breakdowns in the power generators and UPS systems and take corrective action.
Electrical cabling & fittings including sockets and extensions
Lighting systems, replacements of faulty lights and air conditioners
Liaise with the administrator to ensure spending is within budgets

Salary: Ksh.35, 000
